Hack The Grid is a 4-Level builder program by LUKSO, designed to push mini dApps to the next level. It's your chance to experiment with AI agents, social DeFi, creator monetization, gamification, or something entirely new. The Grid opens up new possibilities for builders, turning Universal Profiles into dynamic, interactive spaces where digital identity, social interaction, and creativity collide.

How it works

Build your mini dApp

Leverage The Grid's infrastructure, Universal Profiles (UPs), and LUKSO's user-centered smart contract standards (LSPs) to create next-gen dApps that seamlessly blend web2 and web3. Find inspiration and all resources to start building here .

Levels 1-3

Join at any level or participate in all! Each level offers resources, office hours, and support channels to help teams deploy fully functional mini dApps on LUKSO Mainnet. In every level, $42,000 in LYX is available across three grant tiers:

🥇🥇 Prime Grants – 2 x $9,000 in LYX
🥈🥈🥈 Core Grants – 3 x $5,000 in LYX
🥉🥉🥉🥉 Origin Grants – 4 x $2,250 in LYX

Level 4

Winning projects from Levels 1–3 will qualify for Level 4, the Community Grants Round. Here, an additional $24,000 in LYX will be distributed via quadratic funding on Gitcoin, allowing the community to decide how funds are allocated among finalists.

Two-Step Milestones

Grant payouts are structured into two phases to ensure both immediate support and continued impact.Winners receive 70% of their grant directly upon winning. The remaining 30% is unlocked once they meet standardized KPIs focused on adoption — designed to be achievable within four weeks after receiving the initial payout.

The Grid Rankings

The leaderboard ranks mini dApps based on user adoption and activity. It provides a transparent view of which projects are performing best and tracks their daily progress. All working dApp submissions for Hack The Grid are included — whether a project won a grant or not.

Transparent Progress

The Grid Rankings offer a daily snapshot of mini dApp adoption, helping builders track their impact and compare progress. It also highlights which grantees have unlocked their second milestone, providing a transparent view of ongoing development. This visibility helps the LUKSO & Gitcoin community see which projects are gaining traction and make informed decisions when allocating funding in Level 4.
